Title: SR QA Engineer

Duration: Permanent Role

Location: Hybrid

Key Responsibilities

- Own functional, regression, integration, system, and end-to-end testing for complex application and backend workflows.
- Analyze business and technical requirements, identify test scenarios, assess test coverage, and highlight requirement or design gaps early in the delivery lifecycle.
- Create and maintain high-quality test documentation including test plans, detailed test scenarios, test cases, traceability matrices, test evidence, execution reports, and release-quality summaries.
- Perform database and backend validation using SQL to verify data integrity, transformations, transactional accuracy, and downstream processing results.
- Validate APIs and service integrations using tools such as Postman and support automation of repeatable API and backend regression scenarios.
- Develop, maintain, and execute automated tests using appropriate UI, API, or backend automation frameworks; contribute to improving regression efficiency and coverage.
- Perform defect analysis and triage, provide clear reproduction details and supporting evidence, and collaborate with engineering teams through resolution and retesting.
- Validate file-based workflows, scheduled jobs, and inter-system data exchanges, including reconciliation of source and target results.
- Estimate testing effort, plan test execution, identify delivery risks, and communicate testing status and quality concerns to project and QA leads.
- Mentor less experienced QA engineers on functional testing practices, test design, documentation quality, defect reporting, and effective validation techniques.
- Contribute to QA process improvements, reusable test assets, automation candidates, and continuous improvement initiatives across the team.

Required Skills




- Strong hands-on experience in functional and manual testing of enterprise applications, with the ability to independently own complex test areas.
- Experience in both manual and automation testing, with practical knowledge of designing, maintaining, and executing automated regression tests.
- Strong understanding of STLC, test strategy, test planning, test design techniques, regression management, requirement traceability, and defect lifecycle management.
- Proficiency in SQL and database testing for backend validation, reconciliation, data integrity checks, and troubleshooting.
- Strong experience preparing structured test documentation and producing clear test evidence and execution reporting.
- Hands-on API testing experience using Postman or similar tools, including request/response validation and negative testing.
- Experience testing backend processes, integrations, and file-based data workflows.
- Ability to analyze complex business flows, identify edge cases, and translate requirements into comprehensive test coverage.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery teams and collaborating with developers, business analysts, product owners, and other cross-functional stakeholders.

Good-to-Have / Preferred Skills
- Hands-on experience testing batch processing systems, scheduled jobs, batch files, job dependencies, restart/recovery scenarios, and batch reconciliation.
- Exposure to Kafka,



including validation of producer/consumer message flows, topics, payloads, and event-driven integrations.
- Exposure to ETL testing, data pipelines, source-to-target validation, transformation rules, and data reconciliation.
- Experience with automation technologies such as Selenium, Cypress, Playwright, Rest Assured, Java, Python, or equivalent frameworks.
- Experience with CI/CD pipelines, Git, Jenkins, GitLab CI, Azure DevOps, or similar delivery tooling.
- Exposure to cloud-native or microservices-based environments, including Azure and Kubernetes.
- Exposure to AI-assisted software testing, GenAI testing tools, AI-based test design or automation, or practical use of AI to improve QA productivity and coverage.
- Banking or financial-services domain experience.

Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field.
- 8 years of hands-on software quality assurance experience, with strong functional/manual testing experience and meaningful exposure to test automation.
- Prior experience independently owning testing for complex releases or functional areas is expected.

- Ability to challenge assumptions, identify gaps, and communicate quality risks constructively.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, particularly in documenting test results and explaining defects or risks.
- Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and deliver in a fast-paced Agile environment.
- Collaborative mindset with a strong sense of ownership and accountability for product quality.
