Job Summary

We are seeking a registered Animal Health Technologist (AHT) to join our brand new veterinary clinic. As an AHT, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care to our animal patients. Your responsibilities will include assisting veterinarians during examinations and surgeries, performing laboratory tests, taking X-rays, administering medications, and providing compassionate care to pets and an exceptional experience for clients

Duties

- Assist veterinarians with examinations, surgeries, and other medical procedures
- Perform laboratory tests on in house IDEXX lab equipment.
- Administer medications, vaccines, and treatments as directed by veterinarians

- Take and develop radiographs
- Prepare surgical equipment and sterilize instruments
- Provide post-operative care and monitor patients during recovery
- Educate pet owners on proper animal care and medication administration
- Maintain accurate medical records and update patient information in the computer system

- Establish Fear Free certification
- Clean and maintain the veterinary clinic and equipment

-Maintain logs (surgical, controlled drug, anesthetic, radiograph, etc)





Experience

- Previous experience as an AHT or similar role is a plus. New graduates are welcome to apply.
- Knowledge of veterinary medical terminology, procedures, and protocols
- Proficiency in performing laboratory tests
- Familiarity with radiography equipment and techniques
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication skills with both team members and pet owners
- Compassionate nature and genuine love for animals
