Responsibilities
- Assist dentists during a variety of dental procedures, including exams, cleanings, restorations, and orthodontic treatments.
- Prepare treatment rooms and sterilize instruments to uphold strict infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology when applicable.
- Manage patient records accurately using dental practice management software such as Dentrix and Epic systems.
- Provide excellent customer service as a dental receptionist, including scheduling appointments, confirming patient information, and answering inquiries.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions with clarity and compassion.
- Support pediatric patients by creating a friendly, welcoming environment that helps ease anxiety and promotes cooperation.
- Assist with orthodontic procedures and develop additional skills through the available ortho module.
Skills & Qualifications
- Proficiency with dental software platforms, including Dentrix and Epic, for scheduling, record keeping, and billing.
- Strong knowledge of medical terminology relevant to dentistry and orthodontic procedures.
- Experience in dental assisting, particularly with orthodontic treatments and pediatric dentistry, is an asset.
- Ability to operate CAD systems for designing or planning dental appliances or restorations.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively interact with patients, team members, and healthcare providers.
- Familiarity with orthodontic procedures and the unique needs of pediatric patients.
- Knowledge of infection control standards, sterilization techniques, and safety protocols in a clinical setting.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a positive, team-oriented attitude.
- Willingness to learn and grow, with the opportunity to develop additional orthodontic skills through our ortho module.
