Store Manager

Isle of Candy | Oshawa Centre, 419 King St W, Oshawa, ON | Full-time (40 hrs/week) | $52,000 – $58,000/year

Start date: November 1, 2026. Paid training takes place 1-2 weeks before the start date (late October).

We are opening a new candy store at Oshawa Centre and are looking for a hands-on manager to lead it from day one. You will run daily operations, lead a small team, and make the store a place people want to come back to.

What You’ll Do

- Open and close the store as a keyholder; manage cash, deposits, and inventory counts, keeping cash variances and shrink in check
- Own the store’s results: sales, gross margin, labour cost, and day-to-day spending against plan
- Build the weekly schedule within the labour budget so the store is fully staffed for mall hours, and Ontario Employment Standards rules are followed
- Hire, train, and coach team members, and keep everyone’s food handler certification current
- Order and replenish stock from our own supply warehouse, manage inventory levels and turns, and keep displays fresh and full
- Run in-store merchandising: seasonal displays and changeovers, a structured sampling program, and social media posts
- Meet quarterly sales targets and keep the store clean, safe, and welcoming
- Keep the store compliant: health inspections,



certified scales for bulk candy sold by weight, and mall/landlord requirements, including on-time sales reporting
- Own the customer experience: coach the team, resolve complaints, and monitor customer reviews

What We’re Looking For
- 5+ years of retail experience, including at least 1-2 years leading a team; specialty food or candy retail is an asset
- Comfortable with scheduling, cash handling, and a POS system
- Comfortable working from sales and labour reports and managing to targets
- Food Handler Certification (or willingness to obtain it before your start date; we will cover the cost)
- Available evenings, weekends, and holidays (mall hours: Mon–Sat 10 am–9 pm, Sun 11 am–6 pm); typical schedule is five days a week, including weekends
- Merchandising experience is a significant asset.
