JOB SUMMARY The Senior Financial Analyst, FP&A; is a critical position within the Finance Team at Livingston. The responsibilities will include involvement in process improvement initiatives, forecasting, budgeting and analysis. The role partners with P&L; leaders to review results and identify actions to proactively achieve targets and mitigate adverse performance.
KEY DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
- Provide support for the annual budgeting process, working collaboratively with a multi-functional team. Challenge key assumptions based on actual trends, knowledge of the business model, and the need to continuously improve overall profitability.
- Ensure an accurate forecast is built with input and alignment from all key leadership team members.
- Analyze, understand and communicate the current financial performance of the business. Oversee the production of monthly/quarterly variance analysis of actual vs budget and forecast, including root cause analysis, and recommendations to improve profitability and deliver planned targets.
- Ensure required monthly management reports, revenue, cost, profitability and headcount bridges and key metric reports are produced on time, based on approved methodology.
- Ability to take initiative and constructively challenge the status quo to continuously improve processes and methodologies. Strive to become more effective and provide better value-add support to business partners and leaders.
- Provide financial support for business cases.
Ensure effective, but profitable growth commitments are made and agreed to by the leadership team before securing incremental company resources. Track actual performance vs estimated in the business cases to capture learnings and report back to management
- Support month-end close and quarterly external reporting requirements, as required.
- Lead/participate in special projects and ad hoc analysis as required to support North American Brokerage operations.
Exhibit flexibility and willingness to take on new responsibilities and assignments as they are identified and to assist with various ad hoc projects as needed.
KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS
- Experience with Forecasting and Budgeting
- Ability to think critically and recommend ideas for improvement of existing policies and practices
- Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to implement solutions
- Ability to prioritize and effectively manage varying deadlines
- Excellent communication (oral and written) skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Strong attention to detail
- In-depth knowledge of accounting systems
- In-depth knowledge of preparing and analyzing account reconciliation
- Proficiency in MS Word, Excel, Oracle HFM (EPBCS) an asset
EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE
- Accounting designation (CA, CPA, ACCA) or Degree in Accountancy, Finance or Business Management
- Minimum 3 years of experience in an accounting/finance role
