Key Accountabilities
Job Title
Important Tasks / Activities / Outcomes
Feature Development & Maintenance
· Build small to medium features across Dahrouge’s SaaS products and client websites, following team standards and designs.
· Fix bugs and perform maintenance on existing applications, keeping them secure for clients.
· Own assigned stories from start to finish, with code review and support from senior developers.
· Turn designs into responsive, accessible pages that pass accessibility and performance checks.
· Participate in project planning and estimation session with stakeholders.
Data Collection & Integrations
· Maintain and improve the scheduled scrapers that collect data from external websites and sources.
· Detect and promptly fix a scraper when a source changes or stops working.
· Clean, validate and load collected data into company databases.
· Help build and maintain integrations with external data services, such as mapping and spatial (GIS) services.
Client Websites
· Turn designs into responsive, accessible pages that look like the design.
· Ensure sites pass accessibility and performance checks before release.
· Check work before release so changes don’t break existing features.
Code Quality & Collaboration
· Write automated tests and clear documentation alongside new code, not after.
· Use AI coding tools responsibly: review, test and be able to explain every line they produce.
· Follow the team’s standards for code, security and version control.
· Participate in Git-based workflows, pull requests and code review.
· Explain progress, problems and technical topics clearly to developers and non-technical colleagues.

Required
Education
- Diploma or Bachelor’s degree in Computing Science,
Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
Experience
- 1 to 2 years of professional software development experience.
Designations & Certifications
- None required.
- Certifications in cloud platforms (e.g., Microsoft Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud) or machine-learning specializations are considered an asset.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Solid Python: HTTP requests, parsing HTML and JSON, and working with data in pandas.
- Solid React and TypeScript, including building components and pages in Next.js.
- Writing automated tests with pytest, Vitest or similar.
- SQL and relational databases, ideally PostgreSQL.
- HTML and CSS, and turning a design into a responsive, accessible page.
- Git, pull requests and code review.
- Able to use an AI coding assistant and explain every line it writes.
- Able to work through problems independently and explain technical topics to non-developers.
Assets (Nice to have):
- GIS and spatial data: GeoPandas, Shapely, PostGIS, ESRI REST services, or QGIS.
- A headless CMS such as Payload, or Astro.
- Docker and GitHub Actions.
- Microsoft Azure.
- An interest in mining, exploration or geoscience.
- Able to communicate in French.
Working Conditions
Office Work
- Primarily works in a standard office environment with minimal exposure to physical hazards.
- May encounter high-stress situations, especially when dealing with multiple projects and tight deadlines.
- This position requires that the candidate will be in front of a computer for long periods, up to 8 hours a day.
- Potential discomfort when working with computers for long periods may happen.
