Damara Day Spa is opening a new location inside Delta Hotels by Marriott Calgary Airport on November 1, 2026. We're a wellness-focused spa offering massage, facials, and nail and body treatments, with a wellness expansion (cold plunge, red light therapy, sauna, steam room) planned for later. You'd be the first hire and help shape the team and the guest experience from day one.

The role

As Spa Manager, you'll run the spa day to day: the schedule, the team, the guest experience and the numbers. You'll help train and onboard the opening team and be the face of the spa to hotel guests, travellers and the local community.

What you'll do

Lead, schedule and coach a team of massage therapists, estheticians, nail technicians and front desk staff

Help recruit and onboard staff, including verifying credentials and licences

Deliver an exceptional guest experience for hotel guests, travellers and local clients

Oversee bookings, room turnover and treatment scheduling to maximize utilization

Run opening and closing procedures, cash handling and daily reconciliation

Drive retail and gift card sales and build a strong rebooking habit

Maintain AHS-compliant sanitation, reprocessing and record-keeping standards

Build a working relationship with hotel management, front desk and concierge

Manage inventory, ordering and supplier relationships

Track and report on revenue, labour cost, retail and guest feedback

What we're looking for





3+ years of management or lead experience in a spa, wellness clinic or similar service business

Hands-on knowledge of massage therapy and esthetics operations, including scheduling, treatment timing and practitioner management

Familiarity with spa booking/POS software

Strong leadership, communication and conflict-resolution skills A hospitality mindset and comfort working in a hotel environment

Working knowledge of sanitation and infection-control standards (Alberta Health Services personal services requirements)

Availability for evenings, weekends and holidays

Nice to have

Experience opening a new spa or location

Background as a licensed massage therapist or esthetician

Experience with retail and gift card programs

Familiarity with City of Calgary massage and business licensing
