Job Overview

We are seeking a compassionate, patient, strong and dedicated Special Needs Advocate to provide personalized support and care for individuals with diverse needs. This role involves working closely with clients to promote independence, ensure safety, and enhance quality of life. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living and patient care and a genuine desire to make a positive impact on the lives of people with disabilities or special needs.

Responsibilities

- Assist individuals with daily activities such as mobility, hygiene, feeding, bathing, ckecking clothes, bedding and personal care.
- Support clients with medication administration and health monitoring as needed
- Prepare meals tailored to dietary requirements and assist with feeding when necessary, following her schedule.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being
- Perform light housekeeping tasks including cleaning and organizing living spaces, clothes and toys.
- Assist with activities that promote independence, such as grooming, dressing, and mobility exercises outside or inside the house.
- Document care activities accurately and communicate effectively with healthcare teams or family members.




- Support clients during outings in the park or stores and medical appointments in the hospital or clinic, ensuring safety and comfort and pick up from the school.
- Follow all safety protocols related to health guidelines.

Skills

- Experience in assisted living, nursing home, hospice care, or home care environments preferred
- Strong background in patient care, caregiving, or working with individuals with disabilities
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when required for mobility assistance or transfers
- Excellent communication skills with clients, families, school and healthcare professionals
- Compassionate demeanour with a patient-centred approach to caregiving
- Ability to handle multiple responsibilities efficiently while maintaining attention to detail
- Basic skills in meal preparation and medication administration are advantageous
- Physical stamina for long shifts involving standing, walking, and assisting clients with mobility
