We are seeking a skilled Database Administrator (DBA) to oversee the installation, configuration, performance, integrity, and security of our organization's databases. The DBA will play a crucial role in ensuring the availability, reliability, and efficiency of our data systems, supporting both operational needs and strategic growth.
Database Management: Install, configure, upgrade, and patch database software.
Performance Monitoring & Tuning: Continuously monitor database performance, identify bottlenecks, and implement optimization strategies to ensure efficient data retrieval and processing.
Backup & Recovery: Develop, implement, and regularly test robust backup and disaster recovery plans to safeguard data integrity and ensure business continuity. Implement and maintain database security measures, including user access controls, role management, and data encryption.
Troubleshooting:
Diagnose and resolve database-related issues, including performance problems, connectivity errors, and data corruption.
Database Design Support: Collaborate with development teams to design productive database schemas, optimize queries, and provide technical guidance on database best practices.
Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth and forecast future resource requirements (storage, CPU, memory). clustering, replication) and participate in disaster recovery planning and testing. Maintain clear and comprehensive documentation of database configurations, procedures, and standards.
Automation: Develop scripts and tools to automate routine database tasks. Proven experience as a Database Administrator. In-depth knowledge of one or more major database management systems (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MongoDB). Strong proficiency in SQL, stored procedures, triggers, and database design principles. Expertise in database performance tuning, optimization, and troubleshooting. Solid understanding of backup, recovery, and disaster recovery methodologies.
Experience with database security best practices. Familiarity with operating systems (Windows Server, Linux).
Experience with cloud database platforms (AWS RDS, Azure SQL Database, Google Cloud SQL) is a plus.
