The Supervisor, Arrow Home provides day-to-day leadership for UGM Victoria’s residential recovery program for women and families. The Supervisor leads and supports the Recovery Care Team, oversees daily operations, promotes consistent recovery-oriented and trauma-informed practice, and helps maintain a safe, compassionate, and accountable environment for participants and staff. Working closely with the Manager, Victoria, and the Social Worker – Arrow Home, the Supervisor exercises sound judgment, addresses routine team and operational matters, supports staff development, and ensures effective communication and follow-through across the program.

This is a permanent, full-time (37.5 hours per week) position. The starting range for this position is $30.40 to $33.22 per hour.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

- Demonstrate UGM's Christian values through compassion, integrity, respect, justice, service, and accountability.
- Provide leadership and oversight for Arrow Home, ensuring safe, effective, and participant-centered program operations.
- Lead, supervise, coach, and develop the Recovery Care Team, including recruitment, onboarding, performance management, staff support, and team development.
- Oversee staffing, scheduling,



workload coordination, and day-to-day operational decision-making to ensure consistent service delivery.
- Ensure consistent implementation of program policies, recovery practices, trauma-informed care principles, and program expectations.
- Support the team in responding effectively to participant needs while fostering a safe, respectful, and accountable community environment.
- Contribute to program planning, implementation, evaluation, and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Oversee key operational functions, including incident management, documentation, health and safety practices, medication processes, facility operations, and regulatory compliance.
- Maintain effective communication with the Manager regarding operational matters, risks, concerns, and recommendations.
- Participate in the on-call rotation and provide after-hours support as required.
- Adhere to all UGM policies, practices, and procedures, including Occupational Health and Safety requirements.
- Perform other duties as assigned.

- Related post-secondary education in social services, counselling, psychology, human services, or a related field.
- Several years of relevant experience, including supervisory or team leadership experience.
- Experience supporting women affected by substance use, trauma, poverty, mental health challenges, or other barriers.
- Consideration may be given to equivalent combinations of education, lived experience, and relevant work experience.
- Demonstrated ability to supervise, coach, train, and support staff.
- Strong judgment, problem-solving, organization, and time-management skills.
- Ability to address conflict, performance concerns, and difficult conversations directly and respectfully.
- Ability to work independently, make routine decisions, and know when to escalate concerns.




- Knowledge of trauma-informed, recovery-oriented practice, including approaches that promote safety, choice, dignity, and personal control.
- Training or experience in areas such as counselling, crisis intervention, conflict resolution, substance use disorders, and trauma-informed practice.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential and highly sensitive information appropriately.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Outlook, Word, and related documentation systems.
- Willingness to complete required UGM training, including Non-Violent Crisis Intervention, motivational interviewing, First Aid, FoodSafe, and Naloxone certification.

Working Conditions

- Work Location

Work is generally performed indoors within an office environment, with standard office equipment available.
- Physical Requirements

Work is generally sedentary in nature, but may require standing, walking or reaching for up to 40% of the time. Employee is required to look at a computer screen and use a keyboard for up to 60% of the time.
- Work Conditions

Working environment is generally favorable. Lighting and temperature are adequate. Work is performed amid normal conditions of dust, odors, fumes, and noises. This position is required to work in an environment often dealing with clients in crisis situations brought about by diverse problems. The ability to function independently and frequently under pressure, while managing multiple concurrent tasks including emergency situations is an ongoing expectation of this position.
- Hours of Work

Regular shifts are weekday daytime. Some weekend and evening work may be required. Moderate overtime may be required.
- Hazards

Job requires interaction with the residents some of whom may sometimes be upset, abusive, and/or violent. Job requires working occasionally in unhealthy conditions, including exposure to bodily fluids, lice and bedbugs. Employee is required to hear information about clients’ lives which may be troubling or upsetting, and may cause emotional issues including vicarious trauma. UGM Victoria also contains farm activity, and there may be some exposure to farm animals & farm machinery.
