What is the opportunity?

Royal Bank of Canada is seeking a Team Lead to join the Derivatives Confirmations Group (Commodities). The role serves as a key link between the team and management, supporting day-to-day team performance and operational effectiveness while escalating material risks, concerns and issues requiring broader management direction.

What will you do?

- Coordinate daily trade confirmations and static data activities, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and alignment with priorities.
- Act as the go-to escalation point for complex issues, providing technical expertise to resolve exceptions and discrepancies.
- Monitor workflow and operational metrics, proactively escalating risks, delays, or resource gaps to management.
- Uphold robust operational controls and regulatory adherence (e.g., ISDA standards), identifying gaps and mitigating emerging risks.
- Support audits, regulatory inquiries, and remediation efforts to maintain compliance.
- Lead, coach, and mentor team members, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Facilitate onboarding, knowledge sharing, and performance feedback to build a high-performing team.
- Collaborate with Trading, Sales, and cross-functional teams to resolve issues and align on business objectives.
- Serve as a subject-matter expert, ensuring timely resolution of escalations impacting clients or counterparties.
- Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, controls, and workflows.
- Contribute expertise to system upgrades, regulatory changes, and strategic initiatives.

What do you need to succeed?

- 2–5+ years of capital markets operations experience,



with deep knowledge of derivatives and trade lifecycle management.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and stakeholder management skills.
- Familiarity with ISDA standards and regulatory frameworks (e.g., EMIR, Dodd-Frank).
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment while prioritizing team development.
