MatchBox Consulting Group is partnering with our client, a well-established and respected heavy civil contractor in British Columbia, to hire a Senior Estimator. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced estimating professional to play a key role in securing and delivering complex infrastructure and road-building projects throughout the Lower Mainland. Our client has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality civil infrastructure projects, including road construction, underground utilities, excavation, asphalt paving, concrete works, and municipal infrastructure.

Lead the estimating process for heavy civil and road-building projects from initial bid review through final submission. Prepare accurate and competitive cost estimates, bid proposals, and tender packages for public and private sector projects.

Identify and pursue new project opportunities while supporting business development initiatives. Analyze drawings, specifications, contracts, and tender documents to determine project scope and pricing strategy. Negotiate pricing and commercial terms with subcontractors, suppliers, and clients.

Collaborate with project managers, contract administrators, engineers, and operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from estimating to construction. Analyze historical costing, production rates, labour, equipment, and material pricing to improve estimate accuracy. Review subcontractor quotations and project billings for compliance with contract requirements.

Mentor junior estimators and provide technical guidance to the estimating team. Maintain knowledge of industry trends, procurement methods, and municipal and provincial bidding requirements.



Minimum 5+ years of progressive estimating experience in heavy civil construction.

Strong experience estimating road construction, underground utilities, municipal infrastructure, excavation, grading, paving, and related civil works. Demonstrated success preparing competitive bids for both public and private sector projects.

Experience with design-build projects, capital infrastructure projects, and joint venture pursuits is considered an asset. Advanced proficiency with HeavyBid , HeavyJob , Microsoft Office, MMCD documentation, and MoTI bidding requirements. Strong understanding of construction methodologies, scheduling, production rates, and project sequencing. Knowledge of the Greater Vancouver civil construction market is highly desirable.
