Royal Oak Pet Clinic
Victoria
Royal Oak Pet Clinic is an established, independently owned small-animal practice in Victoria, BC. We have a loyal client base and an experienced team of RVTs, veterinary assistants and reception staff. We are looking for an experienced associate veterinarian to join our team.
We are particularly interested in a veterinarian who enjoys general practice and has an interest and aptitude in soft-tissue surgery and dentistry. We have an established procedural caseload and can offer regular dedicated surgery/dental time as part of a four-day workweek.
The Position
Our caseload includes general medicine, preventive care, dentistry and routine soft-tissue surgery. Our ideal candidate has several years of small-animal practice experience and is comfortable independently managing a GP caseload. Experience with dentistry, extractions and routine soft-tissue surgery is particularly welcome. Experience or interest in small-mammal exotics would also be an asset.
Royal Oak Pet Clinic has been independently owned and operated in Victoria for more than two decades. Our clinic was rebuilt in 2021 and is equipped with a surgical suite with electrocautery and ventilator, digital radiology, CR and DR dental radiology, Heska in-house laboratory and hydraulic tables. We value good medicine, valuable communication and a collaborative workplace. Clinical and operational decisions are made locally by the people who actually work here.
We offer a competitive compensation package worth between $110,000 and 170,000 based on experience, schedule and production, including:
- Four-day workweek
- No on-call or overnight shifts
- Paid vacation and extended health/dental benefits
- CVBC licensing and professional dues
- CE allowance and paid CE time, with additional support for surgical/dental CE
- VIN and CoVET subscriptions
- Employee pet-care perks
- Signing and/or relocation assistance
- No negative production accrual with ProSal-based compensation
Full-time is preferred, but we would also be happy to speak with an excellent veterinarian seeking a three-day or shorter four-day schedule. Applicants must be eligible for unrestricted Private Practice registration with the College of Veterinarians of British Columbia. We welcome veterinarians licensed elsewhere in Canada who are eligible for BC registration through Canadian labour mobility. We are unable to consider applicants who require provisional or direct clinical supervision to practise in BC.
If this sounds like the kind of practice you are looking for, we'd be happy to start with a confidential, informal conversation about the position and what you're looking for in the next stage of your career.
