seeking a sharp, hands-on
Financial Controller
to take ownership of its accounting and finance function.
This is not a Controller position where you'll simply review reports prepared by a large accounting department.
We're looking for someone equally comfortable
getting into the numbers and advising executive leadership .
One day you may be overseeing month-end close, reconciliations, cash flow, or transactional accounting. The next, you could be building a financial model for an acquisition, analyzing operating performance, or helping leadership make a major investment decision.

What You'll OwnAccounting & Financial ControlsOwn the full-cycle accounting function across the Canadian operationOversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and general ledger activitiesLead month-end and year-end closing processesPrepare accurate financial statements and management reportingMaintain strong financial controls and accounting processesCoordinate annual tax filings, regulatory requirements, and external accounting relationships
Financial Planning & AnalysisDevelop and maintain weekly and monthly cash flow forecastsLead annual budgeting and forecastingPrepare monthly variance analysis and communicate findings to executive leadershipAnalyze financial and operational performance to identify trends and opportunitiesIdentify opportunities for cost containment, waste reduction, and improved operating efficiency
Canada / US FinanceSupport financial activities across Canadian and US operationsManage USD/CAD transactions and multi-currency reconciliationsSupport intercompany accounting and cross-border financial requirementsHelp leadership strengthen financial processes as the organization continues to expand
Acquisitions & GrowthYou’ll also have exposure to an important area of the company's growth strategy.
Support financial due diligence for potential acquisitionsAnalyze financial information and acquisition targetsBuild financial models around working capital, integration costs, and future performanceSupport leadership in evaluating financing structuresAssist with lender relationships and financial requirements surrounding expansion
What We're Looking For5+ years of progressive accounting and finance experienceStrong hands-on full-cycle accounting experienceExperience with financial reporting, month-end/year-end close, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow managementAdvanced Excel and financial modelling capabilitiesStrong ERP/accounting systems experienceAbility to translate financial information into practical business recommendationsStrong attention to detail with excellent analytical and problem-solving skillsComfortable working directly with senior leadership
Highly ValuedCPA designation or equivalent advanced accounting experienceManufacturing, supply chain, industrial, or SME experienceCanada/US cross-border accounting exposureMulti-currency accounting experienceMulti-location business experienceAcquisition, due diligence, or M&A; exposureExperience supporting a growing privately held organization
