You'll lead occurrence investigations, develop and deliver safety training, and manage the data and metrics that keep our safety decisions evidence-based. This is a role for someone who can see the systemic pattern behind an occurrence, not just the immediate cause.LOCATION: Head Office, Vancouver, BC (555 Burrard Street)TERM: Full Time RegularDepartment: Head of People, Culture and SafetyResponsibilities And ExpectationsSMS Investigations and AnalysisLead SMS occurrence investigations, applying structured root cause methodologies to identify systemic and organizational contributing factorsConduct initial risk assessments and coordinate the assignment, tracking, and completion of investigationsEnsure investigations are completed, reviewed, and published in line with SMS processes and Just Culture principlesMonitor occurrences for emerging trends and high-risk events requiring escalation to the Manager, SafetySafety Training, Education and PromotionDevelop, maintain, and deliver corporate and aviation safety training programs, including the Company Safety Orientation (CSO)Apply Aviation Safety Officer (ASO) qualification standards from the CCAA to strengthen training design and deliveryDeliver safety promotion and awareness initiatives that encourage hazard reporting and transparencyLearning Management System (LMS) and Compliance TrackingManage the full suite of safety LMS courses across the organization, including assignment, completion tracking, and compliance reporting to leadersManage the Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) training program and credentialingMaintain safety training records to an audit-ready, regulatory-compliant standardRegulatory Coordination and ReportingCoordinate with external regulators including Transport Canada,



ESDC, CHRC, and WorkSafeBCComplete regulatory reports and returns accurately and within required timelinesMonitor regulatory developments and assess their impact across safety programs and trainingSafety Program Audits and AssuranceAct as the organization's main internal point of contact for safety program audits, working with an external safety subject matter expertCoordinate audit planning, evidence gathering, and stakeholder scheduling across departments and basesTrack corrective action plans through to closureSafety Data, Metrics and Performance DashboardsCreate and maintain a monthly safety metrics dashboard, including WorkSafeBC injury rates, lost-time statistics, and occurrence dataAnalyze safety data across multiple sources to identify trends and areas for improvementPresent data-driven insights that inform safety decision-making by the Manager, Safety and department leadersSafety Project Management and Continuous ImprovementPlan, coordinate, and deliver assigned safety projects using structured project management practicesDefine project scope, schedules, and stakeholder communications, reporting progress and risks to the Manager, SafetyApply systems thinking to the continuous improvement of safety programs and processesQualifications/Assets – What You Bring!RequiredDiploma or bachelor's degree in safety management, occupational health and safety, business administration, or a related field, plus a minimum of 3 years of progressive experience in aviation safety, occupational health and safety, or safety program coordination within a regulated operational workplace, or an equivalent combination of education and experienceAviation Safety Officer (ASO) qualification through the CCAA or equivalentWorking knowledge of Transport Canada's Canadian Aviation Regulations (CARs), Canada Labour Code Part II,
