Profil souhaitéDescriptionGeologist-in-Training (1 Year Term) (Saskatoon) Orano Canada is a leading producer of uranium in Canada, working to power the future with clean energy! Our McClean Lake mill is the most technologically-advanced mill in the world for the processing of high-grade uranium ore without dilution. Our aim is to better define known deposits and discover new ones that will make it possible to supply our McClean Lake Mill for years to come.Responsibilities include:Working on any designated Orano exploration project(s), in accordance with the Project GeologistProviding logistical and technical support for exploration/development programs as directed by the Project Geologists. These duties include, but are not limited to:Collect and interpret field data primarily related to the logging of drill coreEnter data in project databaseAssist with daily core handling functions (measuring, sampling, photography, moving full core boxes etc.)Assist or complete down hole probing data acquisitionInfrared Spectrometry measurements on drill core (TerraSpec) and other physical property measurementsProvides as required written / oral presentation of results: maps, sections, tables, etc.May be required to assist the Project Geologist in supervision of geo-techniciansAssist with spotting drill holes and flagging trails as necessaryMust be fully aware of role and responsibilities as defined in the Integrated Management System (Corporate and Exploration) and support filesMust comply with the health, safety, environment and radiation protection requirements in force at Orano Canada Inc; will enforce them with Exploration workers and contractors,



as applicableEmbrace and support Operational Excellence efforts and OE CultureComply with all Orano health, safety and environmental policies, practices and proceduresPromote and adhere to Orano's Values: Safety and Security, Team Spirit and Cohesion, Continuous Improvement, Customer Satisfaction, Ethics, Transparency and Dialogue, Respect and People DevelopmentSkills and Qualifications for the position include:University degree in geology (B.Sc., M.Sc.)Registered, or the ability to register with APEGS or another provincial equivalentSolid background in geology, structural geology, and geochemistryUranium exploration field experience is a strong assetGood computer skills are essential; familiarity with Geosoft, AcQuire, and Microsoft Office are an assetMust understand geology of uranium prospects and depositsValid Class 5 driver's licenseExperience operating snowmobiles or all-terrain vehicles (ex. ATV) is considered an assetExcellent written and verbal communication skillsMust be discovery oriented / motivatedBe scientific and logical, able to summarize large amount of dataGood decision making abilitiesExcellent social skills and ability to work in a team environmentWork Location & Schedule:Predominantly a field-based position in Northern Saskatchewan; isolated exploration camps or mine sites on a two to three week in and one week out field rotationPartially based at Saskatoon Corporate OfficeNormally a 10-hour work day in the field and an 8-hour work day in Saskatoon office, although some activity outside of normal working hours may be requiredThis position requires moderate physical ability with ability to work in difficult and isolated conditionsSalary Range:$84,450 - $111,950Compensation to be determined based on the selected candidate's level of skill, education, and experience,



and may vary within, the posted salary range.As a condition of employment the successful candidate must complete Orano's pre-employment checks including education verification and employment reference checks.Drug (including marijuana) and alcohol substance testing is a requirement for all Safety Sensitive positions.
