About the Role

Our client is seeking a skilled Industrial Maintenance Fitter to join their manufacturing operations team in East London . This role is responsible for the installation, repair, and maintenance of industrial machinery and equipment to ensure optimal operational performance and safety. You will work on a variety of mechanical systems, diagnosing issues, performing repairs, and conducting preventative maintenance to minimize downtime. This is a hands‑on position critical to the efficiency and reliability of our client's production lines in the Eastern Cape .

Key Responsibilities

- Install, dismantle, repair, and maintain a wide range of industrial machinery and mechanical systems.
- Diagnose faults and malfunctions in mechanical equipment and systems.
- Perform welding, fabrication, and fitting tasks as required for repairs and modifications.
- Read and interpret mechanical drawings, blueprints, and technical manuals.
- Conduct preventative maintenance schedules to ensure equipment longevity and prevent breakdowns.




- Adhere to all safety regulations and company procedures during maintenance activities.

Requirements

- Qualified Industrial Maintenance Fitter with relevant trade certification.
- Proven experience in maintaining and repairing industrial plant machinery.
- Proficiency in welding, machining, and general fitting skills.
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical schematics and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety protocols and procedures.
- Good problem‑solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team in East London .
