About the Role

Our client is seeking a meticulous Information Security Auditor to join their compliance and security team in East London . This role is responsible for assessing the effectiveness of information security controls and ensuring adherence to internal policies, industry best practices, and regulatory requirements. You will play a key role in identifying security risks and control deficiencies, providing recommendations for remediation to strengthen the organization's security posture. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented auditor to contribute to maintaining a robust security and compliance framework within a stable organization.

Key Responsibilities

- Plan and conduct information security audits across various IT systems, applications, and processes.
- Assess the design and operating effectiveness of internal controls related to information security and data privacy.
- Evaluate compliance with relevant regulations (e.g., POPIA) and industry standards (e.g., ISO 27001).
- Identify control weaknesses and security risks, documenting findings and proposing practical remediation recommendations.




- Prepare detailed audit reports for management, outlining audit scope, findings, and areas for improvement.
- Follow up on audit recommendations to ensure timely and effective implementation by relevant departments.

Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Accounting, or a related field.
- Proven experience in information security auditing, risk management, or IT compliance.
- Strong understanding of IT control frameworks, security principles, and auditing methodologies.
- Familiarity with data privacy regulations and compliance requirements.
- Excellent analytical, written, and verbal communication skills.
- Professional certifications such as CISA, CISSP, or CRISC are highly desirable.
