The Salvation

Army exists to share the love of Jesus Christ, meet human needs and be a transforming influence in the communities of our world. This position develops, implements, and facilitates program for children, ages 6 to 12, ensuring activities are provided in a protected fun and inclusive environment Creates, implements and facilitates various youth and children programs depending on client need. Works collaboratively with other service providers on site.

Networks with and refers clients' families, as needed, to other programs within Community Services (Calgary) as well as external service providers. Refers family for specialized services for their children based on observations. Ensures that all resources are inventoried and organized.

May assist manager in researching and developing future community partnerships.



This is a full-time position at 40 hours per week and hours may vary based on peak seasons. Located at Community Family Resource Centre in Forest Lawn SE.

Works within a community based centered in a childcare/ activity environment Deals with typical child behavior Completed a two-year college diploma in a child development or related field. Child intervention check. Incumbents with a social work diploma or degree must be registered with the Alberta College of Social Workers.

At least three years of prior related experience in facilitating a program for children. Knowledgeable about legislation regarding reporting of child abuse/neglect. Familiar with current educational resources for children.

Proficient in MS Office 365 (Outlook, Excel, TEAMS, Word, etc.) Strong communication skills to clearly communicate with, and engage, children/youth of different ages. Enjoys interacting with a wide range of children from different backgrounds. Aware of legal responsibilities regarding reporting of child abuse and neglect.

Demonstrates healthy boundaries with youth and children. Promotes respect for cultural diversity. Placement in the salary range will be based on factors such as market conditions, internal equity, and candidate experience, skills, and qualifications relevant to the role.
