This full time role requires strong clinical expertise and leadership across multiple health centres. As an Assistant Head Nurse, you will serve within Edmonton Public Health, focusing on staff education and quality care delivery.
Your leadership will guide the Antenatal Home Monitoring Program and the Community Perinatal Program, targeting support for complex and marginalized populations. Collaboration and conflict resolution are essential as you monitor staff development and evaluate nursing practices across various sites. Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and implement educational programs for staff
- Lead staff orientation and continuing education initiatives
- Deliver frontline nursing care as needed
- Coordinate clinical evaluations of nursing colleagues
- Support program managers with clinical expertise
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in Labour & Delivery
- Active or eligible registration with CRNA
- Basic Cardiac Life Support certification
- Ability to transport medical equipment
- Experience with diverse communities and Connect Care
