Job Summary: The Manufacturing Engineer is responsible for developing, implementing, optimizing, and sustaining manufacturing processes that support the safe, productive, and cost-effective production of automotive components and assemblies. Working within a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing environment, this position plays a key role in driving operational excellence through process improvement, equipment optimization, automation, capacity planning, and continuous improvement initiatives.ResponsibilitiesResponsibilities and AuthoritiesDevelop, implement, and optimize manufacturing processes for new and existing productsDesign and improve production workflows, workstations, tooling, fixtures, and manufacturing methodsEstablish process parameters, cycle times, and production standardsDevelop and maintain manufacturing documentation, work instructions, and standard operating proceduresSupport global standardization of manufacturing practices across facilitiesDevelop specifications for manufacturing equipment, tooling, and automation systemsSupport capital expenditure planning and budget developmentCoordinate equipment procurement, installation, commissioning, and validationMonitor project timelines, costs, and deliverablesParticipate in Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) activitiesDevelop manufacturing processes and equipment requirements for new product launchesSupport Process Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (PFMEA) development and updatesCoordinate Production Part Approval Process (PPAP)



activitiesSupport engineering changes and product design modificationsAutomation and TechnologyIdentify and evaluate opportunities for automation and advanced manufacturing technologiesSupport robotics, automated assembly, material handling, and vision system applicationsParticipate in equipment design reviews and acceptance testingCollaborate with equipment suppliers and integrators on implementation projectsLead Lean Manufacturing and Continuous Improvement initiativesImprove Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE) and manufacturing performance metricsDrive scrap, rework, downtime, and cycle time reduction projectsImprove process capability and manufacturing stabilitySupport operational teams in resolving production challengesHealth, Safety & WellnessPrioritize safety and comply with the Health and Safety Management System.Support risk reduction, hazard identification, and continuous improvement efforts.Ensure compliance with health, safety, and wellness legislation and KSR standards.Uphold and adhere to the Code of Ethics and Professional Conduct.Promote the global Environmental Management System with a focus on footprint reduction, recycling, andresource efficiency.QualificationsEducation RequirementsBachelor's degree in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Industrial,



or Mechatronics Engineering or College diploma in related field with combination of significant manufacturing engineering experience.Work Experience5+ years of manufacturing engineering experience in a high-volume manufacturing environment.Experience supporting automotive production processes within a Tier 1 automotive manufacturing facility, developing, implementing, troubleshooting and improving manufacturing processes and production systems.Subject matter expert in one of the following: Automated assembly, Robotics and automation, Welding, Stamping, Machining or Injection Molding.Required LanguageEnglish (verbal and written)Required SkillsSkills and AbilitiesLean Manufacturing/ Continuous ImprovementAnalytical and Problem-SolvingSkillsProject ManagementCommunication and InfluenceBusiness Acumen and Cost AwarenessAccountabilityInnovation and CreativityCollaboration and TeamworkComputer SkillsMicrosoft 365Engineering and Design Software (CAD)Manufacturing Systems (MES)ERP SystemsData Analysis and Reporting ToolsAutomation and Controls Software(PLC Interfacing)Microsoft Project or other Project Management software.Physical AbilitiesThe Manufacturing Engineer must be able to work effectively in both office and manufacturing environments and perform frequent walking, standing, bending, and movement throughout production facilities.The incumbent must be capable of conducting equipment evaluations, process observations, manufacturing trials, and hands-on troubleshooting activities.Occasional lifting of up to 25 lbs. (11 kg).Domestic and international travel may be required.
