14-Month Fixed-Term Employment (Maternity Leave) | Onsite in Vancouver, BC | Salary: $80,000–$100,000/annum (depending on experience & qualifications) | Must hold a valid Canadian Work VisaOur client, a global technology organization and one of Canada's Top 100 Employers, is seeking an experienced HR Generalist to join its People Team for a 14-month fixed-term maternity leave coverage. Reporting to the Senior Director, People Team, the HR Generalist will provide hands‐on HR partnership and support to approximately 250 employees in Vancouver, primarily within a technology and R&D environment, while also providing remote support to teams in Toronto and Montreal as needed. This is a broad, highly collaborative HR Generalist role spanning employee relations, HR programs and policies, talent development, recruitment, immigration support, employee engagement, investigations, and strategic people initiatives. The successful candidate will partner closely with leaders and employees while helping develop and maintain high-performing, engaged teams.The ideal candidate is a well‐rounded HR Generalist or HR Business Partner who can operate independently, exercise strong judgment, and comfortably move between strategic and hands‐on responsibilities. The environment is fast-paced and evolving, so adaptability, strong emotional intelligence, communication skills, and a willingness to roll up your sleeves and support the broader People Team will be important.ResponsibilitiesProvide day‐to‐day HR guidance, partnership, and support to leaders and employees within the Vancouver R&D organizationServe as an initial point of contact for employee‐related questions and concerns, appropriately prioritizing and escalating sensitive or critical mattersPartner with the Senior Director, People Team to develop and implement HR strategies, programs, policies, and initiatives aligned with business prioritiesCoach and advise leaders on employee engagement, team development, performance,



and other people‐related mattersSupport employee relations matters, providing practical and thoughtful guidance to employees and leadersParticipate in workplace compliance matters and support employee investigations as requiredContribute to talent development and broader learning and development initiativesSupport employee engagement and retention programs and identify opportunities to strengthen the employee experienceProvide support related to Canadian immigration processes, including permanent residency documentation and work permit applicationsSupport co-op recruitment, including coordination with universities and other recruitment activitiesContribute to recruitment activities and talent initiatives as business needs ariseSupport the planning and coordination of internal and external employee eventsWork collaboratively with the broader People Team on programs, processes, and special projectsProvide remote HR support to employees and leaders at the organization's Toronto and Montreal AI sites as neededHelp foster a positive, collaborative workplace culture and contribute to ongoing employee engagement initiativesManage multiple competing priorities and respond to changing business needs in a fast‐paced environmentTake ownership of special projects and additional HR responsibilities as requiredQualifications5+ years of progressive Human Resources experience,



with broad HR Generalist and/or HR Business Partner experienceIdeally 3+ years of experience as an HR Business Partner or HR Generalist supporting technical teamsCPHR designation is considered an assetStrong experience providing HR guidance and support to both employees and people leadersDemonstrated experience with employee relations, including the ability to navigate sensitive and complex workplace mattersEmployee investigation experience is considered an assetRecruitment experience is beneficial, particularly exposure to co-op or university recruitmentExperience supporting employees within a technology or R&D setting is preferred, although candidates from other industries with strong transferable HR experience will be consideredFamiliarity with Canadian immigration processes, work permits, or permanent residency support is considered an assetExperience with Workday or a comparable HRIS is beneficialStrong communication, relationship‐building, influencing, and interpersonal skillsHigh level of emotional intelligence, sound judgment, discretion, and professionalismAbility to handle confidential and sensitive employee information appropriatelyComfortable operating independently and providing senior‐level HR support with minimal directionAbility to work effectively under pressure and manage multiple competing priorities and tight deadlinesHighly adaptable and comfortable working across a broad range of HR responsibilities rather than specializing in a single functional areaStrong organizational skills and attention to detailCollaborative and team‐oriented, with a willingness to step in and support the team wherever requiredSelf‐motivated, proactive, and able to quickly adapt to changing business needsBase Salary: $80,000–$100,000 per year, with final compensation determined based on relevant experience, skills, qualifications, competencies, and job‐related knowledgeEmployer‐paid flexible health coverage from day oneEmployee purchase and discount programFree onsite gym, showers, and bike storageLunch subsidy programs with select local vendors
