Design Engineer - Battery Energy Storage Job Category : Engineering - Electrical Posted : October 1, 2026 Full-Time Remote Ulteig is currently seeking talented and motivated Design Engineer – Battery Energy Storage (BESS) market candidates to support design of utility scale renewable projects nationwide. Work with internal team and external clients to develop renewable project design/construction packages including BESS layouts, electrical one-lines, collection systems, collection system studies, and equipment installation details for Utility Scale renewable systems (50-500MW+). Interact directly with clients for successful project execution Design projects of multi-discipline teams of 2-4 people including a design engineer (focused on the layout, details, etc.), a system studies engineer, with additional support from CAD technicians.

Support development of early-stage projects with conceptual designs and material take-offs. Contribute to continual development of internal engineering standards, toolsets and work processes. Degree in Electrical Engineering required or equivalent required.

Minimum of 2-4 years of experience in power systems, with detailed design of Renewable BESS strongly preferred. Proven experience in Microsoft Software Applications (Word, Excel, Power Point) Experience/familiarity with AUTOCAD or Revit is preferred but not necessary. Due to the dynamic nature of the renewable energy market, the ability to learn, understand, and apply new technologies is a must.

The position requires the ability to effectively multi-task and manage numerous projects/tasks simultaneously,



frequently within aggressive and compressed schedule. Ability to maintain project schedule and achieve target due dates. If working remote must have reliable high speed internet capabilities.

Target Base Compensation

Range for this role is $81,000 - $109,700 CAD * Factors that may be used to determine your actual salary include your job specific skills, education, training, job location, number of years of experience related to this role and comparison to other employees already in this role
