JOB SUMMARYReporting to the Manager of Ambulatory Care, the Orthopedic Technologist will work under the direction of the Orthopedic Surgeons, in collaboration with other members of the health care team. The Orthopedic Technologist will carry out duties as assigned within the scope of practice. The Orthopedic Technologist complies with the Occupational Health and Safety Standards for the hospital and is proactive in promoting a safe work environment.QUALIFICATIONSGraduate of a recognized Orthopedic Technologist Program - requiredCurrent registration with the Canadian Society of Orthopedic Technologists (CSOT) - requiredCurrent BCLS – requiredKnowledge and use of basic computer programs - preferredFlexible, self-directed and able to work safely and effectively with minimal supervisionKnowledge of orthopedic supplies and equipment for a variety of procedures, the positioning of patients, casts and splinting techniquesDemonstrated ability to properly apply,



adjust and remove all common orthopedic devices while minimizing discomfort to the patientAbility to interpret easy fractures and dislocations on x-rayDemonstrated ability to respond to a large and diversified workload within a fast-paced fracture clinic environmentDemonstrates a commitment to participate in Quality Improvement Initiatives/ProgramsDemonstrated high standards in oral and written communication skills and ability to work as a member of an integrated healthcare teamExcellent organizational and time management skillsGeneral positive health and a level of functional ability appropriate to the demands of the positionFrench language skills an assetWindsor Regional Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
