Jump Recruitment, on behalf of our client, Hot Frost Heat Pumps, is seeking to fill a Director of Business Operations position, to join them at their office in Mount Pearl, NL.

Contract type: Permanent. Work hours: Full-time.

Job Summary

The Director of Business Operations will oversee business functions and lead the business operations, identify opportunities for growth and development, and provide accountability. The role will be responsible for leading the office, administrative, and sales sides of the business. This position will work closely with the General Manager on staffing requirements, capacity planning, job readiness, operational performance, customer concerns, and company-wide initiatives. The Director of Business Operations will have broader responsibility for the business, including oversight of sales, marketing, accounting, purchasing, staffing, planning, and profitability. They’ll work alongside our General Manager, who leads field operations, and be accountable for bringing those parts of the business together. The focus of this role will be on establishing stronger systems for operations and scopes of work. Emphasis will be on financial oversight, profitability, work-in-progress, accounting functions including payroll, employee accountability, sales monitoring, and improving coordination between office and field teams.

Key Responsibilities

- Day-to-day business operations and organizational coordination
- Overseeing office administration and administrative personnel
- Financial and operational reporting
- Revenue, billing and accounts-receivable oversight




- Operational costs and profitability monitoring
- Sales coordination and performance oversight
- Oversight of sales, marketing, accounting, purchasing, staffing, planning, and profitability.
- Customer experience and escalation management
- Scheduling and dispatch processes
- Purchasing, inventory and material controls
- Development and implementation of business policies and procedures
- Improving systems, accountability and communication across the company

Qualifications

- Completion of a University degree in business or a related field, coupled with extensive and progressive managerial experience.
- Significant proven experience (typically 5+ years) in a similar position, ideally in construction, contracting or service-based business, with progressive management experience at a director-level of operational success.
- Good interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written, coupled with an ability for excellent people-management skills. Ability to deal with tact, diplomacy and courtesy.
- Sound level of problem-solving and analytical skills, strong organizational and coordination skills.
- Competitive annual salary, based on experience, starts at approximately $90,000.
