About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly analytical and experienced Senior Power Systems Analyst to join their strategic planning team, operating in a fully remote capacity. This critical role focuses on analyzing the stability, reliability, and efficiency of the electrical grid, utilizing advanced modeling and simulation techniques. You will play a key part in forecasting future energy demands, evaluating grid expansion strategies, and ensuring the integration of new energy sources. The ideal candidate possesses deep technical knowledge of power system behavior and is adept at translating complex data into actionable insights, contributing to the long-term vision of a robust and sustainable energy infrastructure. Key Responsibilities
Perform detailed power flow , short-circuit, and transient stability analyses for the electricity network. Develop and maintain sophisticated power system models using industry-standard software (e.g., PSS/E, PowerFactory). Evaluate the impact of new generation, transmission projects, and distributed energy resources on grid performance. Conduct contingency analysis and identify potential grid vulnerabilities, recommending mitigation strategies.
Support the development of long-term system expansion plans and operational strategies. Prepare comprehensive technical reports and present findings to engineering teams and management. Requirements
Master's degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering with a specialization in Power Systems. Minimum of 7 years of experience in power system analysis and planning. Expert proficiency with major power system simulation software packages. In-depth understanding of grid operations, protection systems, and regulatory requirements. Strong analytical and quantitative skills, with the ability to model complex systems. Excellent written and verbal communication skills for reporting and presentations. Benefits
