Work location is subject to change at the discretion of the City due to operational demands.Position OverviewThis 310T Truck and Coach Mechanic position is responsible for carrying out all repairs and maintenance on a variety of vehicles, including urban transit coaches, specialized fleet, and support vehicles in a safe and efficient manner in accordance with approved policies. This position will report to the Manager of Transit Maintenance. A Mechanic – 310T Truck and Coach Technician inspects, repairs and maintains commercial trucks, emergency vehicles, buses, and road transport vehicles by performing work on structural, mechanical, electrical, and electronic systems. Specifically, a Truck and Coach Technician inspects, repairs and maintains:electrical and electronic systemsengines including fuel, exhaust, intake, and emission controlstransmissions, clutches, drive shafts, and axlesbody and trim, frames and hitching/coupling systemssteering, suspension, and computer control systemstires, wheels, and hubsbraking systems including air supply and hydraulic, heating, ventilation, air-conditioning,



and refrigeration systemsResponsibilitiesThis 310T Truck and Coach mechanic position is responsible for performing all aspects of maintenance and repairs, including MTO inspections. The Mechanic must provide a complete set of hand tools and toolbox.RequirementsYou must have a valid Class G driver’s licence with an acceptable driver’s abstract (no more than three (3) driving related convictions or an accumulation of no more than three (3) demerit points in the previous three (3) years prior to the date of hire), and/or no administrative driver license (ADLS) suspensions.You must also possess a valid 310T Truck and Coach Mechanics Certificate. You will also need to have the ability in acquiring an Ontario “C” or “B” driver’s licence with “Z” air brake endorsement. In addition, you must provide (possess) a complete set of hand tools and toolbox.You must be competent in the use of diagnostic tools and can interpret wiring schematics. You can effectively follow written and verbal directions and must be able to submit accurate/legible reports.
