Department: Diagnostic Imaging - RadiologyDiagnostic Imaging refers to several different technologies that use highly specialized equipment to quickly and accurately image the human body in order to diagnose, monitor or treat medical conditions. Each type of technology gives different information about the area of the body being studied or treated. These tests are performed by skilled technologists with specialized training. The Diagnostic Imaging Department at the NBRHC consists of, X-ray, Computed Tomography, Ultrasound, Nuclear Medicine, Bone Mineral Density, Echocardiography, Mammography, Ontario Breast Screening and MRI with support services such as Picture Archiving and Communication Systems delivering images instantly to our physicians.QUALIFICATIONSCertification/Experience/Knowledge:Member of the College of Medical Radiation and Imaging Technologists of Ontario requiredBasic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS-HCP) certification requiredCertified Canadian Association of Medical Radiation Technologists (C.A.M.R.T.) is an assetStrong organizational skills requiredProficiency in multiple modalities preferred; candidate must be willing to cross trainExcellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work collaboratively with all members of the health team requiredKnowledge of Meditech System preferredSkills/Abilities:Ability to work in a fast paced,



high stress environmentDemonstrated ability to deal effectively with a variety of client groups to ensure patient focused care deliveryDemonstrated commitment to professional developmentAbility to use a variety of computer applicationsGood attendance and work record requiredMust demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitorsMust support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organizationBilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required.
