The principal and customary work of an employee in this class of employment consists in assisting computer users and particularly in resolving hardware- or software-related problems as well as installing and configuring computer equipment and software according to standard procedures. Characteristic functions: The employee in this class of employment installs and configures computers and peripheral equipment; they connect computers and equipment and ensure their compatibility. They install computer parts, such as cards, memory modules or network components; configure the equipmentby setting jumpers; clean, maintain and carry out minor repairs on the equipment. They install, configure and upgrade software and in-house programs according to standard procedures. They use utility software, among others, to locate and resolve problems.
