2026Position SummaryThe Shift Building Operator is an integral part of the Plant Operations and Maintenance department andmaintainsresponsibility for inspecting the facility/mechanical room.DutiesPerforming preventative maintenance to ensure the continuous operation of equipment/machineryDiagnosing problems with equipment/machineryProvidingfeedback to ensure recent construction and/or modification will notimpactexisting systemsRepairing equipment/machineryContributing to the efficient operation of the departmentQualificationsAt minimum, completion of high school or recognized equivalentA Certificate or Diploma in Building Operations, or a 3rd or 4th Class Stationary Engineer Certificate (TSSA), or a recognized licensed trade certification (HVAC, Plumbing, Millwright, Electrician).If licensed trade, possession of the provincial Certificate of Qualifications (COQ)Minimum of 2 years practical and related experienceComputer literate to operate automated systemsEffective organizational, interpersonal and communication skillsExercises initiative and good judgment with ability to multi-taskAbility to perform duties in a professional and courteous manner and produce high quality work while meeting deadlines in accordance to UHN standardsKnowledge of applicable legislative, UHN and/or departmental policiesPrevious related experience in a health care setting,
