The Housekeeping

Worker I is responsible for providing care through professional cleaning and disinfection services in accordance with the established operating standards, policies, and procedures of Covenant Health and Banff Mineral Springs Hospital.

Description: The Housekeeping Worker is responsible for cleaning and disinfecting public, patient and office areas including the collection of waste. This position is covered by the terms and conditions of the AUPE General Support Services Collective Agreement.

Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills, with a commitment to creating positive experiences for patients, residents, visitors, and colleagues. Ability to work independently with minimal supervision as well as collaboratively within a team environment.

Ability to follow established procedures, guidelines, and infection prevention and control practices. Robust attention to detail and pride in delivering quality work. computer proficiency, as a significant portion of orientation, education, and ongoing training is completed online. Ability and willingness to learn and perform specialized cleaning procedures in healthcare environments, including patient rooms, isolation rooms, and operating room areas.

Comprehensive training will be provided. Previous housekeeping, environmental services, or healthcare cleaning experience is an asset.

High School

Diploma or equivalent preferred. Familiarity with infection prevention and control practices is an asset.

Security Screening : As a condition of employment, all employees are required to provide a satisfactory Criminal Record Check and to disclose of previous convictions, record suspensions or pardons received for charges of sexual assault or other sexual offences to Covenant Health prior to commencement of any work, including training or orientation shifts.
