Renal Clinic Temporary

Part-Time Approx until October 2027 Registered Practical Nurse (Unifor Service) The successful candidate’s primary focus will support early management of Chronic Kidney Disease (CKD) which includes CKD identification, prevention, and the concepts of patient self-care management. These responsibilities will be in collaboration with the Nephrologists, Allied team and the CKD clinic nurses; The candidate may be required to work at the Guelph Renal Clinic. Current registration (in good standing) with College of Nurses of Ontario ~3 years (full time equivalent); Acute nursing experience preferred. ~ Current experience in Hemodialysis or Peritoneal Dialysis in acute or chronic settings will be given first consideration. ~ Completion of health assessment course preferred ~ Demonstrated knowledge and skill in the areas of patient adult education, health promotion, CKD and Chronic Disease management. ~ Basic computer skills and experience with computer programs such as Renal Insight and Cerner. ~ Demonstrated effective communication skills necessary to interact with patients, their families,



the multidisciplinary team, home care and other health care facilities. ~ Demonstrated knowledge of General Medicine/Nephrology, Peritoneal Dialysis, Hemodialysis, Diabetes education and Hypertension. ~ Skilled in BG testing, 12 lead EKG’s, vital sign monitoring, IV therapy, aseptic technique and oxygen therapy. ~ Ability to respond to emergency situations by rapidly identifying priorities and complex patient needs ~ CAD 35.70-38.15 International Applicants If you are seeking employment on a temporary work or study permit we recommend reviewing work permit restrictions as it applies to healthcare organizations in Canada.
