Data Governance Advisor Contract Length : 5 Months Raise is currently hiring a contract team member on behalf of our client.
The Real
Estate & Workplace Services (REWS) Governance and Planning team is seeking a Data Governance Advisor to support the implementation and ongoing maturation of its data governance program. Reporting to the Digital Solutions/Data Governance Lead, this role will coordinate daily governance activities, monitor data quality initiatives, track program progress, and develop meaningful dashboards and reporting to measure outcomes. The successful candidate will play a key role in improving data quality, strengthening data stewardship practices, enhancing governance processes, and driving data-focused decision-making across REWS.
Maintain data governance issue logs, action registers, and program progress trackers. Track completion of governance deliverables, including data ownership assignments, stewardship assignments, business glossaries, data dictionaries, data quality rules, and data quality scorecards. Monitor governance KPIs and provide regular status reporting to leadership.
Coordinate governance meetings, capture decisions, and document action items. Escalate overdue governance activities, risks, and issues to appropriate stakeholders. Maintain a centralized data quality issue register and ensure timely follow-up on open items.
Collaborate with Data Stewards and Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to resolve data quality issues. Monitor and analyze data quality metrics, trends, and performance indicators.
Support root cause analysis efforts and track remediation activities through completion.
Document business rules, data quality requirements, and governance standards. Develop and maintain governance documentation, including process maps, operating procedures, governance standards, RACI matrices, and supporting artifacts. Identify process and documentation gaps and implement improvements to governance templates and standards.
Build, maintain, and enhance Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and reporting solutions. Develop governance reporting related to data quality metrics, stewardship coverage, governance maturity, issue aging, resolution trends, and compliance status. Create executive-level dashboards, visualizations, and summary reports.
Ensure consistent application of data definitions, reporting standards, and performance measures. Partner with Data Owners, Data Stewards, business stakeholders, and technology teams to support governance objectives. Facilitate governance workshops, working sessions, and stakeholder discussions.
Promote awareness of governance standards, processes, and accountabilities across the organization. Support change management initiatives and communication activities related to data governance programs.
6–8 years of experience in data governance, data quality management, quality assurance, or related disciplines. ~ Demonstrated experience supporting enterprise data governance programs and initiatives. ~ Robust understanding of data stewardship, data ownership, metadata management, and data quality frameworks. ~ Experience coordinating cross-functional stakeholders and governance activities. ~ Technical Skills Power BI Advanced Microsoft Excel Data analysis and reporting KPI development and performance measurement SharePoint Data quality assessment and monitoring Strong attention to detail and commitment to data accuracy. Ability to translate complex data concepts into business-friendly language and visualizations.
