About the Role We’re looking for a hands‑on maintenance technician with real trade experience in HVAC, electrical, or mechanical systems. You’ll troubleshoot and repair equipment across our retail, food service, fuel, and commercial properties, working with the Maintenance Manager on repairs, preventative maintenance, and facility projects. If you’re the person who figures out why a unit isn’t cooling or a circuit keeps tripping, not just who to call, this role is for you.

What You’ll Work On

- Rooftop HVAC units, furnaces, split systems, and ventilation
- Commercial refrigeration: walk-in coolers, freezers, and reach-in cases
- Electrical: lighting, ballasts/LED retrofits, outlets, breakers, and basic panel work
- Fuel site and food service equipment
- Building mechanical systems: water heaters, pumps, doors, and motors

Key Responsibilities

- Diagnose and repair HVAC, refrigeration, electrical, plumbing, and mechanical issues
- Perform scheduled preventative maintenance, including filter changes, coil cleaning, belt and motor checks, and system inspections
- Respond to service tickets and emergency calls, and prioritize by impact on operations
- Inspect sites regularly to catch problems before they become breakdowns
- Coordinate with and oversee outside contractors on larger or licensed jobs
- Handle general building repairs: carpentry, drywall, painting, and fixtures
- Assist with grounds upkeep and snow removal as needed
- Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used, and time at each site

- Maintain tools, equipment, and company vehicles in secure working order
- Travel between locations in Akwesasne, Cornwall Island, and Cornwall
- Follow all safety protocols and company policies
- Be professional and courteous with customers and staff

Qualifications

- 2+ years of hands‑on experience in HVAC, electrical, refrigeration, or mechanical maintenance
- Ability to read wiring diagrams and use diagnostic tools (multimeter, gauges, etc.)
- Working knowledge of commercial building systems
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Able to lift 50 lbs and work on ladders, rooftops, and in confined spaces

Strongly Preferred

- EPA 608 certification
- Trade school training or apprenticeship in HVAC, electrical, or refrigeration
- Journeyman or licensed trade status (or working toward it)
- Multi‑site or commercial facilities experience
- Availability for after‑hours emergency calls

Work Environment

The job involves daily travel between sites and a mix of indoor and outdoor work in all weather conditions. Occasional evening, weekend, or on‑call work is required. The technician is responsible for proper use of PPE and for their own safety on the job.

Physical Demands

The job requires frequent standing, walking, climbing, bending, and kneeling, plus work on ladders, rooftops, and in tight spaces. You must be able to lift up to 50 lbs, with or without reasonable accommodation.
