We are looking for a scientifically driven, collaborative, and patient-focused Medical Science Liaison (MSL), Immunology (Rheumatology) to join our Canada Immunology team, supporting South-Western Ontario and Manitoba .
The Medical Science
Liaison (MSL) is a professional who serves as a key field-based scientific partner to healthcare providers and decision-makers, medical professional associations, and internal UCB colleagues. This professional will be responsible for executing key medical strategies to enhance and positively impact patients living with chronic inflammatory diseases.
Medical
Solutions team, Medical Information and cross-functional commercial colleagues (e.g., External partners : healthcare providers and key opinion leaders (KOLs), clinical investigators, medical decision-makers in health systems/IDNs. Maintain deep therapeutic-area expertise by staying current on pre-clinical and clinical data, treatment options, emerging standards of care, and competitive landscape for AxSpA and PSA in Rehumatology. Delivering clinical value propositions and engaging with key decision-makers in medical groups, integrated delivery networks (IDNs), and regional payers.
Deliver balanced scientific exchange and clinical value propositions, including addressing medical information inquiries and providing effective, audience-tailored presentations to internal and external audiences. Identifying and supporting potential research expansion projects, collaborations, medical advisors, and educational partnerships. Conducting local roundtables and education programs to enhance KOL understanding of unmet clinical needs.
Serving as a scientific expert at medical and scientific conferences, advisory boards, clinical investigator meetings, and internal meetings. Supporting and collaborating with field-based cross-functional teams to provide medical insights and expertise. Reviewing and critiquing scientific publications to inform healthcare trends in Rheumatology and Immunology.
Collecting, analyzing, and communicating information concerning therapeutic areas, treatment options, emerging standards of care, and competitive intelligence. Addressing medical information inquiries and providing effective clinical presentations to internal and external audiences. Locally supporting UCB clinical investigations and assessing feasibility, serving as the primary liaison for unsolicited Investigator-Initiated Studies (IISs) from inception to publication.
Providing field updates for the creation and/or updating of Standard Response Letters. PharmD, PhD, MD, or DO, Master Degrees including expertise in Rheumatology Valid driver’s license and ability and willingness to travel up to 60% in the designated territory. 2+ years of Medical Science Liaison experience ~ Strong business acumen with a solid understanding of the pharmaceutical industry.
~ Ability to clearly articulate complex scientific concepts in 1:1 and group settings. ~ Experience in partnership with Global and local therapy area experts and external organizations ~ Must bea strong teamplayer and effectivelyinterface withother internal departments including regional business units, marketing, sales, medical affairs, and clinical operations. ~ Creative approach to problem solving and able to work effectively in a constantly changing workplace. ~ Strong time management and organizational skills withproficiencyin Microsoft applications. ~ Must complete initial training and successfully pass all assessments within 90 days of hire The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
