Position OverviewAutodesk Education Experiences (AEX) helps students, educators, and institutions access Autodesk tools, learning programs, and certifications. We are seeking a Software Development Engineer to build and deliver education-focused product experiences that support teaching and learning across Autodesk platforms.Job Requisition ID #26WD98536ResponsibilitiesImplement backend services APIs, integrations, and product infrastructure that support education product features and platform experiencesMove quickly from prototype to production, balancing speed, quality, maintainability, and user impactIntegrate and productize ML/AI solutions in close collaboration with digital experience and platform engineering teamsBuild and maintain automation, plugins or SDKs for CAD platforms (e.G., Fusion, Revit, 3DS Max, Maya), including tooling to support reproducible experiments and product deliveryWork across product and engineering boundaries, including lightweight frontend integration, data pipelines, service orchestration, experimentation tooling, or internal product workflows when neededWork with CI/CD systems (Jenkins, GitHub Actions) and containerized deployments (Docker), and contribute to observability and reliability of servicesWrite robust, well-tested code and participate actively in code reviews and design discussions; follow security and data-handling best practicesCollaborate closely with product managers, designers, researchers, frontend engineers, ML engineers, and platform teams to turn ambiguous problems into shipped featuresDocument designs, APIs, runbooks and hand-off materials to product teams, and help onboard other engineers to the codebaseContribute to team culture by sharing knowledge, and promoting reproducible engineering practicesMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Computer Science,



Software Engineering or equivalent practical experience3+ years of professional software engineering experience (or equivalent)Strong programming skills in Python and/or C++; experience writing production-quality code and librariesUnderstanding of Full-Stack development workflows/processesAble to utilise AI coding tools for increased velocityExperience with containerization (Docker) and version control (Git)Proven ability to integrate with CI/CD pipelines and maintain testable, maintainable codeAbility to work cross-functionally with product managers, designers, researchers, ML engineers, platform engineers, or other technical teams to ship featuresStrong debugging, problem-solving skills and attention to detailExcellent communication skills and ability to collaborate in a distributed teamPreferred QualificationsExperience working on CAD or 3D geometry systems (meshes, B-Reps, geometry kernels) or building plugins/automation for CAD platforms (e.G., Fusion, Revit, AutoCAD, Maya)Knowledge of OpenCascade or other geometry librariesExperience with cloud infrastructure (AWS) and deploying/monitoring services in the cloudFront-end familiarity (JavaScript, React/Next.Js) for engineers who contribute to product-facing UI elementsUnderstanding of software architecture and design patterns for scalable systemsExperience translating prototypes, research ideas, or ambiguous product concepts into production-ready implementationsPrior exposure to education environments and the workflow of translating prototypes to product-ready implementationsThe Ideal CandidateProduct-minded: You care about the user, the problem, and whether the thing you build actually works in the real worldPragmatic and hands-on — able to move quickly from prototype to production-quality implementation, while maintaining good engineering judgmentCurious: You are willing to learn new systems, tools, product areas, or technical domains to move the work forwardPassionate about education,

Join us!Salary transparencySalary is one part of Autodesk's competitive compensation package. For Canada based roles, we expect a starting base salary between $78,000 and $114,400. Offers are based on the candidate's experience and geographic location, and may exceed this range.
