Toronto is a not-for-profit, intergenerational community campus offering affordable housing, long-term care, early childhood education, health services, and community programming. The campus includes a 122-bed Ismaili Ethnocultural Designated Long-Term Care Home.

AgeCare has been appointed as the manager of the Generations Toronto long-term care home and is recruiting the Maintenance Aide on behalf of Generations Toronto.

The Maintenance

Aide performs semi-skilled maintenance duties related to electrical, heating, mechanical and plumbing systems and building equipment.

The Maintenance

Aide performs a variety of duties related to the general maintenance of the Long-Term Care residence and may assist with construction projects. Responsible for the immediate repair of defective equipment affecting resident care (e.g. beds, chairs, etc.). If unable to repair, reports problem to the Environmental Services Manager.

Responsible for conducting routine inspections of lighting. May be required to test electrical circuits, equipment and appliances using pre-set instruments. Assists in the repair and/or maintenance of electrical and mechanical equipment (e.g. pressure vessels, pumps, fans, electrical motors, steam boilers,



etc.).

May be required to perform minor carpentry projects. Grade 12 Diploma with some related supplemental technical training is required.
