Join Nova Scotia Health as a full-time Utility Worker at Halifax Infirmary. Maintain cleanliness through various tasks including cleaning, floor care, and laundry duties.
The Utility Worker position is vital for ensuring a hygienic workplace within the hospital. Reporting to the Assistant Manager, you will engage in cleaning, mopping, floor care, and laundry tasks. The ideal candidate has Grade 12/GED or equivalent experience, with a preference for those with relevant cleaning and floor care background.
Key Responsibilities:
• Clean and mop all areas within the hospital
• Scrub and wax floors, ensuring maintenance
• Shampoo carpets and chairs regularly
• Manage waste removal, including hazardous materials
• Handle chemical spill clean-up as required
Requirements:
• Grade 12/GED or equivalent work experience
• Experience in cleaning and floor care preferred
• Competency in French is an asset
• Ability to work weekends on a rotating schedule
• Must complete approximately 75 hours bi-weekly
