About the Role

BEAM Pharmacy is an independent community pharmacy in Markham, Ontario. As our pharmacy continues to grow, including our expanding veterinary pharmacy services through BEAM Pets, we are looking for an experienced Full-Time Pharmacy Assistant to join our team.

This position will focus primarily on prescription data entry, insurance adjudication, customer communication, and day-to-day pharmacy workflow support. We are looking for someone who is comfortable working independently, communicates professionally with customers, and already has strong experience using Kroll in a retail pharmacy environment.

Key Responsibilities

- Enter and process prescriptions accurately using Kroll
- Process and troubleshoot third-party insurance adjudication
- Perform prescription data entry and maintain accurate patient/customer profiles
- Communicate with customers by phone, text, email and in person
- Answer incoming calls and respond to general prescription, order, refill, and pharmacy inquiries
- Respond to inquiries from patients and prescribers, and escalate clinical questions to the pharmacist when appropriate
- Communicate with prescribers and veterinary clinics when required
- Support BEAM Pets veterinary prescription and customer service workflows
- Assist with inventory, ordering, receiving, packaging and other pharmacy duties as needed
- Maintain patient confidentiality and follow pharmacy policies and procedures

Qualifications

Required:

- Minimum 2 years of community pharmacy experience
- Kroll experience is mandatory, including prescription data entry and third-party insurance adjudication




- Experience with prescription data entry and third-party insurance adjudication
- Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with pharmacy software, digital tools, and online workflows
- Fluent in English and Mandarin
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong customer service and telephone communication skills
- Robust attention to detail and accuracy
- Reliable, organized, and able to prioritize tasks effectively
- Able to work independently and collaboratively as part of a team

Asset:

- Fluent or conversational in Cantonese
- Experience with veterinary prescriptions or medications
- Experience with prescription delivery, shipping, or online pharmacy workflows

Position Details
- Job type: Full-time
- Work location: On-site in Markham, Ontario
- Schedule: Monday to Friday, 10:00 AM–6:00 PM
- No weekend shifts
- Expected start date: Mid to late November 2026
- Compensation will be discussed based on experience.

Pay: $23.00-$24.00 per hour

Expected hours: 40.0 per week
