We are seeking a knowledgeable and engaging Professional Development Instructor to deliver supplementary certificate courses for healthcare and senior-care professionals.
Our courses are designed to strengthen practical knowledge and professional development in areas such as dementia care, senior support, palliative and end-of-life support, mental health and behavioural support, and professional practice.
Candidates should have
- A recognized Canadian healthcare credential or relevant professional qualification, such as RN, RPN/LPN, or another appropriately qualified healthcare professional
- Current registration and good standing with the applicable professional regulatory body, where applicable
- Minimum 2 years of relevant healthcare experience, preferably involving seniors, long-term care, retirement living, home care, community care, or dementia support
- Robust knowledge of person-centred care, professional boundaries, safety, documentation, communication, and ethical practice
- Strong English communication and presentation skills
- Ability to explain healthcare concepts clearly to adult learners
- Comfortable delivering courses in an online learning environment
- Reliable computer, internet connection, webcam, and microphone
Preferred Qualifications
Preference may be given to candidates with:
- Experience in long-term care, retirement homes, home and community care, dementia/Alzheimer's care, palliative care, mental health, or behavioural support
- Previous teaching, clinical education, staff training, facilitation, or adult-learning experience
- Adult Education, Train-the-Trainer, or similar instructor certification
- Experience teaching or supervising PSWs, healthcare aides, support workers, or other frontline healthcare staff
- Experience developing or reviewing course materials, assessments, case studies, or competency-based learning activities
- Bilingual English/French ability

Key Responsibilities The instructor may be responsible for:
- Delivering engaging online lessons and training sessions
- Explaining course concepts using practical healthcare examples
- Facilitating discussions, scenarios, case studies, and learner activities
- Answering learner questions within the instructor's professional scope
- Administering or reviewing quizzes and assessments
- Providing appropriate learner feedback
- Maintaining professional and respectful learning environments
- Following course outlines, teaching standards, policies, and assessment requirements
- Reviewing course materials for accuracy and recommending updates when appropriate
- Supporting school's commitment to high-quality continuing and professional education
