According to the updated standards and current scope of practice as set out by the College of Nurses of Ontario and the policies of Lakeridge Health, you will assess, plan, implement and evaluate nursing care for patients whose conditions are stabilized; administer treatments as ordered by physicians and/or Nurse Practitioners and as assigned by the Charge Nurse, Patient Care Specialist, or Patient Care Manager; observe and enforce infection control principles and aseptic techniques required in the prevention of nosocomial and communicable diseases

- Registration with the College of Nurses of Ontario
- Registered Practical Nurse Diploma from an accredited community college
- Proven related experience working with the elderly population and/or experience working in a rehabilitation setting
- Proven recent related hospital nursing experience or experience in a long term care setting




- Updated nursing skills including Aseptic Techniques and Patient Assessment courses
- Advanced wound care management certificate and urinary catheterization certificate
- Proven communication skills to effectively interact with patients and their families, physicians and colleagues
- The ability to physically lift, turn and transfer patients manually and with the assistance of mechanical aids
- Must have a satisfactory performance record
