As a key member of our roads and grounds division, you will be responsible for operating a variety of heavy equipment including but not limited to; excavators, loaders, dozers, low bed, and graders. Your primary objective will be to execute tasks with precision, efficiency, and above all, safety.Primary Responsibilities:Operate all assigned heavy equipment such as excavators, loaders, dozers, low bed,
and graders in a safe and effective manner to support roads and grounds projects.Perform finish grading operations with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.Adhere to legislative requirements, company policies, and procedures regarding equipment operation, maintenance, and safety protocols.Ensure cleanliness, maintenance, and security of all assigned equipment, conducting regular inspections and maintenance checks as required.Collaborate effectively with team members to achieve project goals, demonstrating adaptability to perform laborer duties as needed.Proactively communicate any equipment issues or maintenance needs to the appropriate personnel to minimize downtime and ensure continuous operation.Actively participate in safety initiatives, including Job Hazard Assessments, Field Level Risk Assessments, and safety meetings.Embrace a culture of continuous improvement by seeking opportunities to enhance equipment operation techniques and efficiency.Perform other related duties as assigned by the Supervisor, General Foreman and Site ManagerEducation & Experience:2-5 years Heavy Equipment experienceValid Class 1 or 3 Driver's License is requiredClean 5-year Driver Personal & Commercial Abstract obtained within 30 days of starting work is requiredCSO (Common Safety Orientation)WHMIS 2015Ability to lift 50 pounds or moreSafety conscious attitudeMust be willing to work in fluctuating climates (hot, cold, wet) and environmental conditionsMust be comfortable working in close proximity to waterAbility to pass a Drug and Alcohol test and Fit for Duty testAll applicants must have the ability to speak, read and write fluently in EnglishAll applicants must be legally eligible to work in CanadaThe following would be an asset to your application:Transportation of Dangerous Goods (TDG) Certification is an assetGround Disturbance Certification is an assetOSSA Confined Space Entry and Monitor Certification is an assetFirst Aid Certification is an assetH2S Alive Certification is an asset
