About Bodwell Aquatics

Bodwell Aquatics is a growing swim and aquatic programming department at Bodwell High School. We provide swimming lessons, aquatic training, recreational swim programs, and seasonal camps for children and youth in a safe, structured, and professional workplace.

We are looking for responsible, energetic, and qualified Swim Instructors and Lifeguards to join our team.

Position Overview

The Swim Instructor / Lifeguard will be responsible for teaching swimming lessons, supervising pool activities, ensuring water safety, and creating a positive learning experience for students of different ages and skill levels.

This role requires strong communication, professionalism, reliability, and the ability to work with children in a safe and engaging way.

Key Responsibilities
Teach swimming lessons to children and youth in private, semi-private, and group settings
Supervise pool activities and maintain a safe aquatic environment
Follow lesson plans and adapt teaching methods based on student ability




Monitor student progress and provide feedback when needed
Enforce pool rules and safety procedures
Respond quickly and professionally to emergencies
Maintain a clean, organized, and protected pool environment
Communicate respectfully with students, parents, and staff
Arrive on time and be fully prepared for each shift

Required Qualifications
Valid National Lifeguard certification
Valid Swim Instructor certification
Standard First Aid and CPR-C certification
Previous experience teaching swimming is preferred
Strong ability to work with children
Reliable, professional, and punctual
Robust communication and teamwork skills

Preferred Qualifications
Lifesaving Instructor certification
Experience working in a school, camp, or youth program setting
Experience teaching beginner swimmers
Ability to work weekday evenings and weekends
