As a Centre Assistant, you will perform a variety of instructional and Centre management tasks such as:
Grading and preparing student classwork and homework
File Prep and Inventory - Pull appropriate worksheets and prepare student files with necessary materials and information. Take inventory of supplies.
Grade worksheets (accurately and efficiently grade completed worksheets with designated markings) and enter worksheet grades into record books.
Provide hints to guide students through their work.
Ensure students complete their classwork and corrections.
Take the Oral Reading Scores for each student.
Supporting students to adhere to the Kumon Method and Centre procedures
Exemplifying solid customer service to provide an excellent experience to students and parents
Assisting with the enrollment process to provide parents and students with a solid start
Providing feedback to students and communicating student progress to parents and the Instructor as needed
Creating Individualized strategies for student development based on student goals and communication with Instructor

Qualifications and Skills
Previous experience of Kumon as Student/Parent/Centre Assistant
Solid proficiency in high school Math and/or English




Available to work evenings and/or weekends and perform various tasks within the Centre as assigned
Maintain regular and consistent attendance and punctuality
Ability to work as part of a team and build relationships with coworkers and customers
Strong interpersonal and communication skills

Job Overview:

We are looking for long-term, part-time staff with strong Mathematics and English skills who are quick learners, reliable, consistent, and take initiative.
University students interested in going into teaching are encouraged to apply.
Working with students or previous teaching/tutoring experience or having knowledge of the Kumon method is an asset.
