Express Employment Professionals is recruiting for a growing Beamsville based manufacturing company that specializes in engineering and building modular buildings (e-houses), Switchgear, and Portable Substations. The Mechanical Designer and Drafter will be a key player in the Engineering and Product Development department. This is a full time, permanent, Direct Hire chance.

Responsibilities

- Review customer specifications and provide sound Mechanical design for custom switchgear, modular buildings (E-Houses), protection and control
- Produce mechanical drawings, bill of materials, design instructions to the production team for fabrication and assembly
- Adhere to engineering design procedures, those set by the company and ISO9001 QA program
- Assist quotation department with design feasibility and cost estimates
- Create accurate engineering and electrical drawings (AC & DC Schematics, 3-line diagrams)
- Prepare comprehensive wiring diagrams for electrical equipment, power substations according to project objectives and design information




- Participate in design process by supporting all other Engineers, Designers, and the Owners of the company

Skills for Success

- 1-4 years of experience with Engineering Design, common practices, procedures, and standard concepts
- Familiarity with power electrical equipment
- Ontario Building Code and Electrical Code knowledge
- Strong teamwork skills
- Experience in drafting, CAD, proficiency with AutoCAD and Microsoft Office
- Diploma in Mechanical or Manufacturing Engineering Technologist or Technician or Bachelor's Degree
- Knowledge in production processes with electrical products

Schedule

- Monday – Friday in-office position
- 7:00am – 3:30pm

Wages

- $59,000 - $68,000 annual salary DOE
