Position Overview

The Host is responsible for creating awarm and welcoming first impression for guests visiting the Prairie RoseKitchen. This position manages guest seating, assists with reservations andwaitlists, and helps ensure an organized and positive dining experience.

The Host works closely with the service,culinary, guest services, and group teams to balance guest expectations withoperational capacity.

Key Responsibilities

- Greet and acknowledgeguests promptly in a friendly and professional manner.
- Managereservations, walk-in guests, waitlists, table assignments, and seatingrotation accurately.
- Confirmguest names, party size, special occasions, accessibility needs, and relevantreservation notes.
- Providerealistic wait times and keep waiting guests informed.
- Coordinatetable readiness with Servers, Bussers, and Shift Leads.
- Answerdining questions and provide accurate information on menus, hours, policies,and spa-related dining considerations.
- Maintainan organized, clean, and professional host area.
- Recognizeguest cues and create a calm arrival experience even during peak periods.
- Communicatespecial requests, allergies,



celebrations, group details, or service concernsto the appropriate team member.
- Assistwith wayfinding and coordinate with Guest Services when guests require supportbeyond the restaurant.
- Thankdeparting guests and invite feedback when appropriate.
- Protectguest privacy and handle personal information according to policy.
- Assistwith menus, telephone inquiries, lost-and-found routing, and otherfront-of-house tasks as assigned.
- Assistwith server, host, busser, and food-runner training and mock services.

Qualifications

- Previousexperience in food and beverage restaurant, café, or hospitality operations ispreferred.
- Excellent communicationand organizational skills.
- Ability toremain calm and qualified in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize guest needs.
- Strongcustomer service and interpersonal skills.
- Serve ItRight Saskatchewan (SIRS) certification is an asset.
- Safe FoodHandling Certification is an asset.
- WHMIScertification is preferred.
- Ability towork flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, holidays, and on-call shiftsas required.
