water treatment or steam generation3rd Class Power Engineering Certificate (ABSA certified)A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)A valid driver's license and a clean driving recordKey ResponsibilitiesFollow all operating processes and procedures during operations to ensure the safety of our people, equipment, and the environmentPerform plant operation duties for smooth and efficient operations and ensure shift changes are well communicatedEnsure timely action and process adjustments during plant upsets that are consistent with operational objectives and target outputsPerform routine operating tasks such as monitoring levels, pressures, and temperaturesPerform basic troubleshooting and initiate repairs or requests for repairs when requiredPrepare equipment and systems for maintenanceLocation & other key detailsYou will work out of our Firebag location, which is our largest in situ operation and one of the largest in the world (and located 120 km northeast of Fort McMurray, Alberta)This is a Fly-in/Fly-out (FIFO) camp-based position; you will FIFO from a Suncor hub location: Calgary/Edmonton, Alberta or Saskatoon, SaskatchewanThe shift schedule is a 7 nights on / 7 days off / 8 days on / 6 days off ; 12-hour shifts)This position is safety sensitiveYou will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers, with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spacesSuncor is committed to providing equal opportunities for employment and building an inclusive, results-oriented and high-performance culture where all members of our team feel safe, valued and respected.
