Support individuals in crisis as a Crisis Intervention Caseworker with the Vancouver Police Department. Provide emotional support and case management during traumatic events.
This temporary full time position in the Victim Services Unit requires skills in crisis intervention and social work. You will assist with emotional support for incidents such as domestic violence and provide case management for complex situations involving various police specialized units. The role involves ongoing assessment and advocacy for clients while managing case files in a structured environment.
Key Responsibilities:
• Provide crisis intervention assistance during traumatic incidents
• Conduct evaluations and assessments for appropriate interventions
• Liaise with clients and external agencies for support
• Attend court with clients to offer emotional and logistical support
• Maintain records and gather community resource information
Requirements:
• Degree in social sciences, psychology, or social work
• Experience in crisis intervention and emotional support
• Minimum two years of related experience preferred
• Valid class 5 BC driver’s license required
• Comfort working with a Justice Facility dog
