Job SummaryThe primary duties of the candidate selected for the position will include installing and splicing mid-weight and heavy-weight conveyor belts at customers’ sites including related work involving conveyor systems.Mainresponsabilities * :Work in teams of 2 (typically) and assist in training apprentice technicians on installation and vulcanization techniquesRemove the existing belt and installing a current conveyor beltOperating the companies belt winderMake all the necessary conveyor adjustments (ie. Removing and reinstalling guarding, pully and roller adjustments, belt tracking)Perform hot and cold vulcanization and mechanical joints (at the customer sites and in the workshop)Perform other related work such as pulley lagging, rubber lining, cold and hot belt repairsCommunicate with customer representativesPerform inspections of conveyors at customer sites and provide recommendationsEnsure all tools and equipment are accounted for and are in working orderParticipate in provided training (ex. forklifts, overhead cranes), as well as continuous development of industry knowledge and skillsExecute shop based orders when there are no service jobs scheduledPerform preventive maintenance of service equipmentExecute the safety rules established in house and on customer sitesTake responsibility for the service trucks and ensure their proper maintenance and inventory of tools and materialsMaintain a clean truck and workspaceComplete post-job documentation of hours and work performedMaintain regular contact with supervisor regarding the progress of the work or any issues that arise*Non exhaustive listTraining and experienceHold a diploma in industrial mechanics or equivalent experience (an assetExperience with maintaining conveyor systems (an asset)Minimum 3 years of experience performing heavy weight belt vulcanization (essential)Schedule:Day shift Monday-Friday, occasional weekends and evening (conditional on customer needs)Technical skills :Valid driver's license and have a vehicle accessible for any shift start timeGood knowledge of industrial mechanicsManual skillsBilingual-French (an asset)Expert in installation of conveyor belts and vulcanizationAbility to take measurements (as well as convert to imperial or metric) and do simple calculationsNon-technical skills:I am driven to do the right thing even when no one is lookingLeadership and sense of responsibilityGood skills for physical and manual workGood physical shape.Sense of urgency and ability to work under pressureSkills in analysis and problem solvingAbility to make decisions quickly and demonstrates initiative and resourcefulnessConcern for quality service and final productThe ability to work in a team.Dynamic and enthusiasticAvailable for overtime and variable hoursStrong interest in the customers’ and the company’s successBehaves with integrity and respect
