The opportunity:
The General Manageris responsible forsuccessfully managing the ongoing daily operations of the Health and Fitness Centre by ensuring service excellence throughout the facility and adherence to all operational policies and standards.
In this role, you will:
Demonstratestrong supportand commitment to the mission andcore values of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka and the YMCA in Canada.
Demonstratestrong supportand commitment to serving the membership, facilityusersand all program participants of the YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka.
Monitor and manage Centre health by utilizing a variety of management tools related to Key Performance Indicators.
Develop and manage annual Centre budgets in conjunction with theRegional GeneralManagerflagging significant variances ina timelymanner.Achieve the annual budget as approved by the Board of Directors.
Ensure that the strategic goals of the Association are met through active participation in leadershipcircle, regional groups and product groups as assigned.
Maintaina high levelof service delivery by:
Setting annual sales and retention targets
Monitoring service and program quality by observing YMCA Best Practices and The Y Way Experience Standards.
Developing and implementing Health and Fitness programs that stimulate member growth and retention.
Monitoring,analyzingand responding strategically to membership trends.
Maintaining current working knowledge of industry trends on a local,regionaland national level.
Monitoring and respond appropriately to community needs.
Recruit, train, schedule, coach and evaluate an exceptional Senior Staff Team.Provide ongoing feedback and support to all Centre staffin order tomaintaina strong culture of trust,unityand productivity.
Ensure that the facility is clean and well maintained as per YMCA of Simcoe/Muskoka andThe Y Way Experience Standards.
Ensure that the Centreis in compliance withthe guidelines and policies of all regulatory bodies. Document a local Centre emergency plan and ensure that all staff are trained and ready to respond.
Develop a working knowledge of all YMCA software to help make strategic decisions based on the mostappropriate data.
Ensure acustomerfacingpresence during day,eveningand weekend hours.Interact with members and participants on a regular basis tomaintainaccessibility and foster relationships.Provide leadership by walking around,demonstratedby on the floor leadership in more than one program / service area as well as being able to support all staff to deal with all situations that present themselves.
Maintain an efficient flow of information both internally and externally to ensure that staff, members, committees,donorsand the community are well informed. Ensure that communication is explicit,professionaland effective as well asbeing in alignmentwith the YMCA values.
AChieve annual givingobjectivesby recruiting campaign chairs and volunteers to develop andmaintainrelationships with community donors and potential donors through stewardship.
Maintain,fosterand create positive community relations in conjunction with theRegional General ManagerandCOO.
Adhere to all provincial and federal legislation relevant to job description.
You bring:
Degree preferred although Diploma in related health fieldacceptablewith 5 years supervisory experience
Proven customer service and business experience
Human resource management experience
Current CPR and First Aid Certification
Must be able to work flexible hours based on client needs
Clear Police Reference Check and Vulnerable Sector Screening
